Organizational Context

In a context of growth, our client, a distributor of specialized products for the construction and residential renovation industry, is creating a new role as Finance Director. With more than 30 years in operation and a solid reputation, this SME has close to one hundred employees and manages 5 branches across Canada and the United States from its Montreal headquarters.


Under the authority of the VPGM, the incumbent will be part of the Management Committee and is expected to provide financial guidance and solutions to support the achievement of corporate objectives. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, which consists of 4 to 6 employees. The revision of the accounting methods, the elaboration, preparation and presentation of the financial reports, the implementation and the monitoring of the key performance indicators are all elements that will require the attention of the Director. The key matters are: – Establish a better structure for the department by reorganizing work and processes and / or integrating new accounting service delivery methods – Rigorous monitoring of multiple projects and/or contracts – Provide value-added financial information to guide management decisions and provide strategic input into day-to-day operations as well as to short-, medium- and long-term corporate opportunities

The accounting team will benefit from the experience of a Finance Director who has proven his ability in optimizing accounting activities, to build on the strengths of each member and to mobilize the efforts of all to establish the best practices.

Candidate Profile

This role is for a CPA with more than 10 years of experience. Perfectly bilingual, the candidate is knowledgeable about internal controls and compliance, financial and budgetary planning and taxation. You have experience in manufacturing and / or distribution where things move quickly. You have participated in mergers & acquisitions and have the personality to join a growing SME with an entrepreneurial culture. You are recognized as a team mobilizer, a leader with excellent listening skills, strong communication skills, good presentation of strategic solutions and overall business savvy?
