To join these builders, we are looking for a Recreation Service Manager to ensure the vision of the leisure department for all of the groups homes’.

Reporting to the AVP, the incumbent will be primarily involved with the General Managers of each property in the development of their recreation programs, projects and budgets by providing a framework and standards for the on-site recreologists. The goal is to provide a range of recreational services that is strategic and fully aligned with the mission of this department.

In concrete terms, the Manager will supervise a direct team of two Supervisors who support recreologists in the various establishments in their daily tasks in order to offer high quality activities. The manager will aim to:

  • Review, improve and create norms and standards in the field of recreation by offering tools and follow-up implementation to ensure uniformity and application in residences.
  • Develop inter-residential and more specific projects aimed at enhancing the leisure service, both in terms of participation rate and the quality and appreciation of activities.
  • Structure the program for recruiting, integrating and mobilizing leisure professionals, particularly by building links with schools to promote internships and by developing a more effective integration and training guide.
  • Become an ambassador for the recreation department with other sectors internally as well as with external partners and organizations that promote links with the community.

 

Candidate Profile

The desired candidate is, ideally, a university graduate in recreation or a vocational training in leisure sciences. He or she has ten years of relevant experience and is known for his or her communication skills and abilities. The Manager will need to be agile in managing at a macro level while remaining very close to operations and the field. Travel to residences will be required regularly. Knowledge of the Retirement Home sector would be a considerable asset.
