The STO (La Société de transport de l’Outaouais) is a growing company that aims to provide efficient sustainable public transit solutions that allow the people of Gatineau to travel where they live, work, study and play. We are looking for someone with experience to meet the challenges of the new Project Manager position as part of the structuring link studies towards the West.
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling all activities related to planning studies that will lead to the realization of a structuring link in public transportation for the west of the city of Gatineau, in accordance with the guidelines given, the work schedule and the planned financial framework. You will develop a project management plan and implement a methodology consistent with recognized project management practices. As a representative of the STO, you will ensure the progress of the project by maintaining the interface between the project office, the external representatives, the partners, the technical committee and the project management committee. You will evaluate the project’s performance in terms of budget compliance, timelines, achievement of results and objectives, and monitoring of processes. You will act as the project’s lead, identify issues that impact the key project parameters and act accordingly.
You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or administration / management and a project management training, combined with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, of which five (5) were in the management of major projects. You have transportation experience and a good understanding of the rail passenger transportation industry. Recognized for your communication skills, you have an easy way to carry out projects in collaboration with several partners. You demonstrate a strong ability to maintain a holistic view of large project management and have a strong sense of process planning and control.
