Organizational Context

Our client, owner and manager for senior retirement homes, currently holds a portfolio of 5 residences in Quebec. Its Board of Directors is composed of passionate entrepreneurs seeking to maximize the efficiency and profitability of their properties without ever forgetting what is important to them, namely the quality of the services offered.


To support these investors, we are looking for a Regional Director of Operations to ensure the sound operational management of the residences. Reporting directly to the President, the incumbent will primarily initiate the sharing and development of procedures and policies to standardize best practices across all portfolio residences. He or she will have to assist the residences in achieving their objectives of profitability and operational performance, while ensuring the maintenance of operating standards and the continuous improvement of the services offered.


The Regional Director coordinates the elaboration of the annual budget for each residence and actively participates in the financial management of the properties. He or she supervises and supports the management teams in the various establishments to encourage the mobilization of the employees and their commitment to offer a high-quality service. Finally, the director supports his residence directors in resolving operational issues and participates in various special projects related to day-to-day activities.

Candidate Profile

The candidate is a University graduate and has approximately 10 years of management experience in a multi-location service business with unionized employees. Recognized for his mobilizing leadership, great ease in communicating, deploying strategies and problem-solving skills, the Director will have to be agile in managing multiple issues at once while remaining very close to operations. Knowledge of the private retirement homes industry or hospital sector would be a considerable asset, however, experience in the hospitality, retail, catering or care and well-being would also be relevant.
